Today the Military Institute of National Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev is a modern interdepartmental, multidisciplinary, integrated Military Training Department of higher educational institution which is providing the training of experts with complete higher education for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations. Future officers undergo basic training at the corresponding departments of the National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv Institutes. Academic and teaching staff provides military and special training at the Military Institute. Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information of the State University of Telecommunications is a structural subdivision of the University of Telecommunications. It realizes admission for officer personnel training according to the qualification levels of "bachelor" and "master's degree" in the following directions and specialties : Computer sciences. Training process in MITIT is integrated into educational process of SUT. Scientific and pedagogical personnel of the university carry out teaching subjects of humanitarian, social-economic and natural sciences cycles. All necessary conditions for accomplishing education are created in the military institute. There are four study buildings,25 labs, 15 lecture-rooms equipped with modern telecommunications technical devices, 101 specialized classrooms according to directions of training, shooting-range, gyms and sport bases, training centre to improve students' and cadets' practical skills using means of communications and automatic control systems, two students hostels. Also there is an opportunity to use material and technical base of the State University of Telecommunications. There is a shooting-range, three gyms, two sports bases and an assault range for different sport events and competitions. Students and cadets of the institute can use sports facilities of the SUT such as a swimming pool, a football pitch and play-grounds. National University of Defense of Ukraine(NUDU) (Ukrainian: Національний університет оборони України імені Івана Черняховського, Natsionalnyi Universytet Oborony Ukrainy imeni Ivana Chernyakhovskoho) is a university of higher military education in Ukraine, located in its capital city of Kiev. Subordinated to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the University is training officers specializing in the defense of the country. The University was founded back in Russian Empire times as "2nd Kyiv Military Infantry and Mykolaiv Military Artillery schools" (Russian: Второе Киевское военное пехотное и Николаевское артиллерийское училища). military school was opened in Kiev in 1914. The history of formation and development of the National Defence University of Ukraine begins with the opening in city of Kyiv in 1914. Second Kyiv Infantry and Mykolaiv Military Artillery schools. Kyiv is not accidentally chosen to accommodate an additional two military academies. In a military department within the Ministry of Defense building was located a large vacant piece of land, which in 1913 decided to withdraw for the construction of facilities for the Second Kyiv Military School and Mykolayiv Artillery School. The main building of the National Defence University of Ukraine is located in the premises of the main building 2nd Kiev Infantry School (1914-1918 year). For the purpose of building a new institution in 1914 was given 18 acres of land in the so-called "Cadet grove", which helped build the largest empire training ground for firing. The first set up schools (180 cadets) held on 15 October 1915. By the completion of the main academic building housed the cadets in the barracks next to it. Training in the new school building began in March 1917. In 1919, at the campus of the former cadet College by the Mykolayiv created the first artillery training courses for commanders to the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army (RKKA, Red Army). In August of 1993 the Military Medical Department was found on the basis of the Bohomolets' Ukrainian State Medical University. Training of medical officers was started in 1993, first graduates turned out in November 1995. Scientific researches in the interest of the military medical service were being realized by a research center of military medicine of the Military Medical Department and the Armed Forces military men professional health Center. After its reforming in 1997, the main structural subdivisions of the Academy are the Military Medical Institute and a Scientific Center of Military Medicine which function according to separate regulations. Functional subdivisions of the Academy in the sphere of student practical training is the Main Military Clinical Hospital and other military medical establishments, in the scientific sphere there is a Scientific-Research Institute of Military Medicine Issues. Entering the Academy According to the decision of the State Accreditation Board on the consequences of licensing and accreditation the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy (UMMA) refers to the higher education establishments of the IV th accreditation level and has the right to train military medical specialists on the educational qualification levels of bachelor, specialist and master of medicine (pharmacy). Besides, at the Academy's medical officers can pass retraining and skill improvement. Training the specialists of all levels is realized in the Medical Officers Training Department (MOTD). The main task of the MOTD is training on the basis of the general state requirements to medical (pharmaceutical) education according to the state order for highly qualified specialists, conferring them the qualification of physician-specialist (general profile provisor) on 14 specialties: - general practice - family medicine (for land forces); - general practice - family medicine (for air forces); - general practice - family medicine (for Navy); - surgery; - anaesthesiology and intensive therapy; - dentistry; - therapy; - neurology; - psychophysiology; - infectious diseases; - hygiene; - epidemiology; - forensic medicine; - pharmacy. Medical service officers, aged up to 32, passing the military service in the Armed Forces and other military formations of Ukraine, having accomplished higher medical (pharmaceutical) education, that are positively characterized in the service and citizens of Ukraine, male preferably - graduates of civil higher medical education establishments of Ukraine, aged up to 28, that have the officer-in-reserve rank on one of the medical military register specialties or are recommended to the commissioned rank willing to pass the military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and meeting the requirements of the military service can be admitted to the MOTD of the Military Medical Institute (MMI) of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy (UMMA). Study terms: 3 years (specialties of surgical profile and general practice); 2 years (specialties of therapeutic, medical managing profile, dentistry, forensic medicine and pharmacy). After finishing the study the graduates are conferred the qualification of physician-specialist (general profile provisor) on the specialty. They obtain the certificate and the right on independent medical (pharmaceutical) activity of the general state model and are provided with the appropriate positions at medical units, institutions and establishments of the AFU. The main task of the Medical Officers Retraining and Skill Improvement Department (RSIMOD) are: - specialization and military officers retraining; - systematic skill improvement of physicians of medical units, institutions and establishments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (MDU) and other military formations; - pre-certificate physicians training to confer them the qualification category; - specialization, retraining, skill improvement and pre-certificate nurses training. Study term on cycles of 1.5 months to 1 year. Studying of the students on both departments is realized in accordance with the general state typical unified specialization programs, subject improvement and pre-certificate training. The students having finished their studies obtain the corresponding certificate of the ascertained state model. Training of the specialists of higher educational and qualification level master of medicine (pharmacy) also takes place at the Academy. The magistracy. The students of the MOTD having studied in it for the first and the second years depending on the specialty are admitted under contest results. The finishing term of the studies herein coincides with the one of finishing of the MOTD. Under the decision of the Director of the General Military Medical Administration of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine - Director of the Armed Forces military service and chief specialists of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the medical service officers, up to 35 years old, having the certificate of doctor (provisor) or specialist and that have to be put to the position that require completed educational qualification specialist training level can be admitted to the magistracy. Study term of such people makes up 1 year. The people who have successfully passed the state certification get the diploma of ascertained model of complete higher education on master qualification and specialization. There are doctor and advanced student courses introduced in order to train scientific and pedagogic staff of higher qualification to meet the requirements of the Academy and the Armed Forces medical service and other military formations. Study term herein makes up 3 years. Doctor course. Under the contest results the citizens of Ukraine out of the number of commissioned rank people, sciences candidates, not older than 40, having achievements in chosen science field and being the perspective scientific pedagogic workers having necessary number of completed science researches that allow to complete, during the studying herein, their work on doctor thesis. Under the contest results (contest selection) officers, up to 35 years old, passing military service, having higher medical (pharmaceutical) education and a qualification of specialist or master's degree, practical work experience in troops on the appropriate officers positions not less than 2 years after finishing the interne course having positively recommended themselves and revealed capabilities in pedagogic and scientific work can be admitted to it. Under the recommendation of the Academy's Scientific Council MMs can be admitted having no experience of practical work in troops. By the recommendation of the Academy's Scientific Council officers having revealed relevant capability in studying and inclination to pedagogic or scientific activity can be admitted to here right after the finishing the Academy. The citizens of Ukraine, volunteers to pass the service in the AFU suiting the requirements of the military service and having complete secondary education are admitted to the NMU Medical Officers Training for the AFU Department. Organization of admittance to the NMU Medical Officers Training for the AFU Department is realized by the NMU admittance commission's pedagogic commission, which is assigned by the rector of the university and the director of the UMMA. Students initial selection takes place at the UMMA.
